A bench in memory of Chloe Dudley, the Bishop Monkton teenager who died in 2022, has been installed on Hungate by the Parish Council.

Councillors Stephen Verrill, Steve Oliver and Gareth Sargeson have removed the broken bench in Hungate and installed Chloe’s memorial seat. The plaque will need a little more restoration work, which is planned for the near future. The work was done with help from Richard Taylor and lots of advice from Dave Whincup!

Chloe died at the age of thirteen in 2022 after a long struggle. She was diagnosed with 1p36 deletion syndrome which typically causes severe intellectual disabilities, delayed growth and visual impairment.
