Six candidates are to stand in the General Election in the new Wetherby and Easingwold Constituency which includes Bishop Monkton. Polling takes place on July 4th. The candidates are-

John Hall (Yorkshire Party)

James Monaghan (Liberal Democrat)

Mike Jordan (Reform UK)

Ben Pickles (Labour)

Alec Shelbrooke (Conservative)

Arnold Warneken (Green)

‘Bishop Monkton Today’ is inviting all the candidates to write a short piece about themselves and their policies and how they will work to benefit Bishop Monkton. We will publish these pieces from June 17th onwards. In addition, of course, we can expect leaflets through our front doors, ads dropping into our social media feeds and, if you google them, some of the candidates have websites or Facebook pages
