Red carpet ready to roll, glad rags washed and pressed and excitement building ahead of Bishop Monkton's very own private, preview screening.

For nine weeks from March, the Village Hall and Playing Fields was a hive of hustle and bustle as Strike Productions, on behalf of the BBC, made a CBeebies Television Programme “Football Fantastics”. For those nine weeks the crew almost became a part of the village and seemed to fit in very well with daily life. The village responded, not only with smiling faces and cheery waves, but also by arranging perfect weather during the filming. Just part of a true North Yorkshire welcome.

The production team has now offered to host a screening of the first two episodes of the series, a sit-com, pre-school comedy which will have, in total, 10 episodes.

This screening will take place at the Village Hall on Thursday July 3rd at 6 p.m.

Places are limited to the capacity of the hall, which is 100, and priority ticket access has been allocated to village hall volunteers and clubs and societies, which regularly meet at the Village Hall and which were interrupted during the filming. Light refreshments will be provided.

However, there are now some tickets available to anyone in the village who wishes to attend, but don't dawdle, there are not too many left and it is sure to be well over subscribed. To get your tickets, which are free, but limited to two per applicant please go to Eventbrite click. Children are very welcome but they must have a ticket.

Phil Goodier, chair of the Village Hall Committee, said, “The event should be great! I’m really pleased the BBC/Strike team are giving up their time for this event as a “thank you” for the welcome they experienced from the village during filming.”

The series will air on CBeebies & BBC iplayer on Saturday July 5th, “kicking off” to align with BBC’s Summer of Sport and the Women’s Euros.
