Yorkshire Countrywomen's Association
Welcome to the Bishop Monkton and Burton Leonard Branch of the
Yorkshire Countrywomens' Association.
The Yorkshire Countrywomen's Association (YCA) came into existence in 1983 to promote companionship, crafting and the importance of community. With over 45 branches throughout Yorkshire, the Association brings together ladies from all walks of life, generations and background, frequently resulting in long lasting friendships. It is Yorkshire's largest social association for ladies of all ages.
The Bishop Monkton & Burton Leonard branch started in 1985 and meet on the first Thursday of every month at 2 p.m. at St. Leonard's Hall, Burton Leonard, when new members are always warmly welcomed. There are currently 18 members who pay an annual subscription of £20 per annum.
The branch's aim is to provide a variety of entertaining speakers throughout the year that will help broaden outlooks. It also chooses, on a year by year basis, a charity to help and support by way of a donation plus a percentage of profits from fund raising events. As a rural association, the club also supports Medical Aid for Ukraine, under the banner "Pennies for Friendship-your pennies count".
