Ee bah Gum, it were a 'reet grand' Yorkshire Day spread at the Methodist Chapel when every seat in the house was taken as almost 40 folk raised a “cuppa” to “God's own county”.

Yorkshire hospitality at its best was on offer with a cold buffet table, loaded with savoury and home-made sweet dishes of every description. No-one went home hungry that was for sure. The two courses were interspersed with humorous readings and songs, laced with typical Yorkshire humour, that certainly generated more than a laugh or two.

Much hard work had gone into organising the meal and preparing the dishes that made everyone feel so welcome. The round of applause at the end was richly deserved.

This is the only event in the Chapel's fund raising calendar that is in aid of the Chapel itself.
