Wednesday's Annual Parish Meeting attended by more than thirty people heard important news about a range of organisations in the village.

Among the highlights -

- VH Chair Phil Goodier presented the results of the survey about the Village Hall including the news that the internal decoration done for the BBC production will stay at least for now. For more on this click here.

- A Governmrnt funded scheme to try to tackle surface water flooding upstream of Bishop Monkton was explained by a representative of Ousewem - an organisation engaged by the village's Flood Action Group to try to reduce flooding in the village.

- Glenda Hunter was confirmed as the new Editor of the village website 'Bishop Monkton Today' when Colin Philpott steps down at the end of May thus ensuring that the website will continue.

- Sue Edmond appealed for more volunteers to come forward to be Community Responders.

- Dean Culshaw spoke of the progress made by the Parish Council over the past year in terms of its improved governance and its progress on various projects.

- There were reports from representatives of BMAG, the Local History Group, the Tennis and Pickleball Club and the WI.
