All will be returned to normal at the Village Hall and Playing Fields by the end of today (Friday May 16th) as Strike Productions finally move out after nine weeks of filming on behalf of the BBC's CBeebies channel.

However, everything will not be quite the same. The internal paint scheme, which has received many favourable comments, will remain for the time being at least. The picket fences, which have also received many "likes" will, however, have to be taken down for safety reasons, but the Village Hall is already expediting a quick, permanent, replacement with removable panels for cricket viewing.

The filming itself finished last week and these final days have been spent putting things back from where they came. The art team has rehung the notice boards and the large trucks have been gradually departing from the car park.

The temporary toilet cubicle for the use of outside users of the playing fields went off hire in the middle of the week and the final move of all will be when the table tennis tables are brought back from their temporary home at Markington Village Hall on Saturday.

So to all village organisations, societies and clubs who have been displaced during the weeks of filming, thank you for your patience and co-operation and it is now time to return to your usual home.

Villagers can now look forward to seeing their very own hall and playing fields taking centre stage in "The Football Fantastics" a 10 part, pre-school sit-com to be aired later in the year.

And the final word, well for now at least -"The BBC love the draft of the series apparently"!
