As the current editor of this website takes his leave (but only from this website not the village) and moves onto, in his own words, different ventures, visiting new places and grandparenting duties, the new incumbent, Glenda Hunter, would like to say a few words.

“As the new team prepares to take over the village website-and more details will be posted about this before too long-can I, as the new editor, take this opportunity of thanking the “retiring” editor, Colin Philpott, for his immense amount of hard work, patience, vision and dedication to “getting the show on the road” since the revamped website was launched last Autumn. It may have all appeared very seamless and simple, believe me it wasn't, but without Colin's attention to details, guidance on how things should be done and above all determination to get it right, there wouldn't be a website today, a community asset that many of you have said you wish to continue.

He has left the new team the same great legacy he was bequeathed by Richard Field and Martin Minett, who developed and ran the old website for 20 years and for that I thank all three.

The new team will do their best to follow their example, all the time upholding their standards.

Colin tells me he will always be around for help and advice-something he may well regret offering when I shout help for the umpteenth time in a week.

On behalf of Bishop Monkton, thank you Colin."

In the meantime, why not have a read of the articles on the Spring Bank Holiday Family Fun Day, written by two new members of the team.
