On Thursday 10th September between 11.15 am and 11.45 am, Dr Jeary will be asking the undertakers to take Catherine, his wife, in her hearse on the triangular route from their home at Cranford on Knaresborough Road around the village via Hungate then past the Masons Arms pub up to St John’s Church on St John’s Road BM where it will pause and where she was a deputy church warden, en route for her funeral destination at St John’s church in Knaresborough where they have also worshipped since they were married there nearly 26 years ago.

Private Cremation at Stonefall follows next day.

Villagers who knew her can pay their respects to her as she passes them by.

Dr Jeary’s former district nurse wife will be very missed by Singing for Fun choir, The Bowls Club and by the village churches.

They leave seven children between them and twelve grandchildren in the UK and Australia.
