While all may have seemed relatively quiet at the Village Hall these last two weeks, it doesn’t mean the Strike crew making the CBeebies television programme "The Football Fantastics" have finished and gone.

The team are off site until after Easter as they are currently using the facilities at Bramhope School, where the school's sports hall is being used for filming. They will, however soon be returning to Bishop Monkton.

By all accounts, filming has generally gone very well with the Spring sunshine and bright dry days certainly playing their part in keeping to the schedule. The team are pleased with the facilities offered at the Hall and are enjoying working in the village.

A temporary toilet has now been provided for the use of the croquet and bowls players, although the hall toilets are still accessible during the day, providing permission is first requested. This may seem slightly inconvenient, but rules appertaining to the safeguarding of young actors do need to be strictly followed.

Phil Goodier, Chairman of the Village Hall Committee says "We still have some logistical hurdles to work through to accommodate some early evening sports fixtures, but I'm confident this will all be achieved given the spirit of co-operation we have".
