Yorkshire Water have submitted an objection to the latest revised plan by Avant Homes for sixty homes near the Knaresborough Road/Moor Road junction. They say that the plan needs amending because tree planting proposed as part of the plan will be within five metres of sewers and could jeopardise the sewerage system.

Their statement, available to see on the NYC planning portal, notes the following:-

"It appears from the submitted site layout that new tree planting will be sited within 5 metres of the public sewerage system located within the site. This could seriously jeopardise Yorkshire Water's ability to maintain the public sewerage network and is not acceptable. We therefore OBJECT to the development layout as currently shown. I strongly advise that, prior to determination of this application, the site layout is amended to allow for adequate protection of the sewers."

Meanwhile, NYC have confirmed to 'Bishop Monkton Today' that the deadline for comments on the new plan is Friday 22nd November.
